I made a character using the DnD Beyond sheet and chose Druid, Ranger, Guide, then the only option for Aasimar was a Variant. Can any race be Aasimar and Teifling? One of my players wants to play as an Aasimar, specifically a Fallen Aasimar.
Like can you be an Aasimar that is an orc or a teifling that looks like a dwarf or Firbolg? But, despite reading up on Aasimar, I'm really not sure what they are. So I’m relatively new to roleplaying and the L O R E of DND or whatever, but I was thinking about the Radiant Soul ability that protector Aasimar.
The rationale/mechanic were a choice at 5th lvl, where you could give up the aasimar type racial ability. Aasimar (pronounced AH-sih-mar) are mortals who carry a spark of the Upper Planes within their souls. In the 2024 rules there is Aasimar, not variant listed.
